AI Security Manager

We are looking for an AI Security Manager to advance our work at the forefront of AI safety and security.
As AI Security Manager, you will support our AI security workstream, which aims to develop best practices for the secure development and deployment of frontier AI, and our AI-cyber workstream, which focuses on how threat actors may exploit frontier AI systems in their cyber operations. You will work with the Head of AI Security to ensure the regular delivery of rigorous and scientifically-informed outputs within each workstream and to drive forward consensus viewpoints on threat models, safety evaluations, capability and/or risk thresholds, and risk mitigations across our AI security portfolio.
As an AI Security Manager, you will be adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously and executing quickly on high-level guidance. You will work with the Head of AI Security and senior leadership to organize and facilitate workshops with domain experts from our member firms, as well as manage the drafting, revising, and publication of best practice guidelines and research briefs.
About the FMF
The Frontier Model Forum is an industry non-profit dedicated to the safe development and deployment of frontier AI models. By drawing on the technical and operational expertise of our members, we aim to 1) identify best practices for frontier AI safety and support the development of frontier AI safety standards, 2) advance AI safety research for frontier models, and (3) facilitate information sharing about frontier AI safety among government, academia, civil society and industry.

Key responsibilities
- Working with Forum leadership to implement a portfolio of timely research workshops and outputs
- Help organize multiple working groups and research-oriented initiatives, delivering against a range of research objectives
- Research and draft memos for use as structured read-aheads for working group meetings and for potential publication on the FMF’s website
- Conduct and write comprehensive literature reviews on various AI and cybersecurity research topics
- Draft and compile research surveys on various topics for circulation within expert networks
Additional responsibilities
- Provide basic administrative support for meetings and opportunities for internal and external collaboration on research programs
- Help to coordinate expert workshops, liaising with key experts and researchers from FMF firms and non-member organizations
- Take part in informational expert interviews across member firms and external stakeholders, helping to memorialize areas of convergence and divergence among emerging safety practices
- Monitor AI and cybersecurity literature and research, staying abreast of key developments in safety evaluations, safety frameworks, and related topics
About You
You may be a good fit for AI Security Manager if you:
- Have a clear passion for advancing frontier AI safety and security and actively seek opportunities to expand your domain knowledge
- Have strong writing skills, adept at drafting, revising, and finalizing collaborative research documents
- Thrive at organizing, facilitating, and synthesizing expert workshops and research convenings
- Have experience supporting teams and leadership in fast-paced and constantly changing environments
You may be a strong candidate if you:
- Have a MS or advanced training in AI and/or cybersecurity
- Have experience carrying out and/or documenting cyber evaluations, including automated benchmarks, redteaming, cyber ranges, and CTF exercises
- Have familiarity and experience with cybersecurity standards, protocols, and information-sharing mechanisms
- Have familiarity with natural language processing, computer vision, reasoning and/or multi-modal models
